Mother Nature has blessed us with a plentiful dowry, but she’s been bit kinder to some of us. This if why some women need to spend very little time to look good and well-groomed, but others have to go through all kinds of trouble to keep their weight or to have silky smooth skin. Still, every effort counts! For women, taking care of ourselves is furthermore difficult due to lack of time. Our priorities tend to be working, cooking, and taking care of our family and home.

As in every battle, you need weapons appropriate for your fight. Here are a few examples of an arsenal some women have, and others lack.

  • Coarse terry mitten good for rubbing. This can be store-bought or made at home from an old towel.
  • Long-handled brush. If you remove its handle after washing your back, you can use it for other body parts too.
  • Linen napkins good for making compresses
  • Hair brush
  • Small soft round facial brush
  • Nail brush
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Comb
  • Manicure tools: skin pliers for removing nail skin and nail file
  • Pumice stone
  • Small make-up brushes
  • A wide powder brush
  • A mirror with a handle or a mirror in a well-light part of your home
  • Soaps: facial soap, body soap (appropriate for your skin type)
  • Make-up remover
  • Cotton pads
  • Cotton buds
  • Nourishing night cream
  • Foundation cream or moisturizing day cream for make-up
  • Powder or powder cream (appropriate for your skin type)
  • Rouge
  • Lip stick
  • Mascara

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Foaming bath milk
  • Shower gel
  • Shaver
  • Shaving gel

Looking at this list, you must be asking yourself, do I really need all of these things? Or you might discover that you have a spare of some of these items. Have you thought how much all of this costs? Don't panic. These are things essential to good and proper caring. Remember, proper tools are an investment to your own well-being and confidence.
